Mane Wallet Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Kit Capital, Inc. (“Kit Capital”, “we” or “us”), the publisher of the Mane self-custody wallet for iPhone, macOS, Windows and Linux and the Mane browser extension (together, “Mane”). Please read them before you use Mane.

Effective September 6, 2026

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By installing or using Mane you agree to these Terms and to the privacy policy that applies to your Mane surface: the Mane privacy policy for iPhone and the Privacy Policy for the desktop apps and browser extension. If you do not agree, do not use Mane.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. You are responsible for anyone who uses Mane on your device.

2. Self-custody and your keys

Mane is self-custodial wallet software. Keys are generated and stored only on the device. Kit Capital cannot move funds or act on the user's behalf. Kit Capital never receives, holds or forwards your funds.

You alone control your recovery phrase, private keys and PIN. Anyone who has your recovery phrase can take your assets. Kit Capital cannot recover a lost recovery phrase or PIN, cannot unlock a wallet, and will never ask you for either. Keep offline backups and never share them with anyone, including people who claim to be Mane support.

Every transaction is built on your device and signed with keys stored on your device. Review the network, asset, destination, amount and fees before you approve anything. What you sign is what you send.

3. Not an exchange, broker or money transmitter

Kit Capital, Inc. is not an exchange, broker, dealer, money transmitter or money services business. Mane is unhosted-wallet software as described in FinCEN guidance FIN-2019-G001 §4.2.1.

Kit Capital does not accept deposits, hold balances for you, convert fiat currency, operate an order book, or transmit value on your behalf. Mane has no user accounts and no fiat services. Kit Capital does not provide investment, legal, tax or financial advice, and nothing in Mane is a recommendation to hold or swap any asset.

4. Swaps and AnyPay

Swap and AnyPay quotes are aggregated by LeoKit and executed by independent third-party services — NEAR Intents, THORChain, Maya Protocol, Chainflip, Relay, Rango, ChangeNOW — under each provider's terms. Transactions are final and are not refundable by Kit Capital.

LeoKit, a routing API operated by Kit Capital, Inc., requests quotes from these services and returns the quote, a deposit address and status information to Mane. Kit Capital does not operate any of these services and never takes custody of your funds. When you approve a swap or an AnyPay payment, Mane builds a transfer from your wallet to the provider’s deposit address and you sign it on your device; the provider then delivers the outcome directly to the destination address you chose. The providers, their operators, their public API documentation and their terms are listed on the Third-party services page.

Provider terms apply. Each provider applies its own terms and compliance controls, may decline a route, and may change availability at any time. Some providers, currently Rango and ChangeNOW, may ask you to verify your identity or hold a swap for review under their own policies. When no provider will serve a request, Mane shows that no route is available.

Finality and refunds. Blockchain transactions are irreversible. Once you sign and broadcast a transaction, neither Mane nor Kit Capital can cancel, reverse, or refund it. If a provider does not complete a swap, any refund is made by that provider under its own terms, normally to the refund address included in the request, less network fees. Kit Capital does not issue refunds.

Quotes and fees. A quote is an estimate that can change until the provider executes it; the final amount may differ within the slippage shown. The quote you review before signing includes network fees and any fees charged by the provider. Kit Capital may receive an affiliate or routing fee, disclosed in the quote, which the provider or protocol pays out of the swap; your funds themselves are never held by Kit Capital.

Balances shown under NEAR Intents are on-chain balances recorded in the intents.near smart contract on the NEAR blockchain and controlled only by your key. They are not held by any provider, and no account is created with any provider.

5. Restricted persons and regions

You may not use Mane if you are, or are acting on behalf of, a person or entity that is (a) listed on any sanctions list maintained by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), including the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List, or on an equivalent list of the United Nations, the European Union or the United Kingdom; (b) located in, organized in, or ordinarily resident in a jurisdiction that is subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions (currently Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria and the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine); or (c) otherwise prohibited by applicable sanctions or export-control laws from using software like Mane.

Kit Capital may restrict, suspend or discontinue Mane, or any feature of it, in any region at any time, including where a third-party service cannot legally operate. Mane for iPhone is currently distributed only in the United States through the App Store. Swap and AnyPay availability also depends on where each third-party service can legally operate, and each provider may exclude further jurisdictions under its own terms; you may not use a provider from a jurisdiction it excludes. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you where you live and where you use Mane.

6. No accounts, your data and deletion

Mane has no user accounts. Creating a wallet generates a recovery phrase and keys on your device only; nothing is registered with Kit Capital or any server.

Your wallet, its keys, settings, contacts and history are stored only on your device. Deleting a wallet in Settings erases the wallet, its keys and all of its local data from that device, and there is nothing server-side to delete. Verify your recovery phrase backup before you delete a wallet; a deleted wallet can only be restored from its recovery phrase.

Apart from feedback you choose to send us, Mane stores no user data; feedback is deleted on request via the support address. Public blockchain records cannot be changed or deleted by Mane or Kit Capital. How Mane and the services it connects to handle information is described in the applicable privacy policy.

7. Risks you accept

You understand and accept that:

  • digital assets are volatile and can lose all of their value;
  • transactions sent to a wrong address, a wrong network or a malicious counterparty are permanent and cannot be recovered by Kit Capital;
  • your device, operating system or network may be compromised, and a compromised device can expose your keys;
  • blockchain networks, third-party services and LeoKit can be delayed, congested, unavailable or changed without notice, and a pending swap can take longer than quoted;
  • privacy features such as shielded Zcash and Monero reduce, but do not eliminate, what others can observe on-chain and on your network;
  • software, including Mane and its open-source components, can contain defects; and
  • laws applying to digital assets differ by jurisdiction and can change.

8. Acceptable use and license

Kit Capital grants you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Mane on devices you own or control. You may not use Mane for anything unlawful, to evade sanctions, to interfere with the operation or security of Mane, LeoKit or any third-party service, or to circumvent a restriction described in these Terms. Open-source components included in Mane are licensed under their own terms, which are available in the app or its source repositories. The Mane name and logo belong to Kit Capital.

9. Disclaimers

Mane is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy or uninterrupted operation, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Kit Capital does not warrant that any quote will be honored, that any swap or AnyPay payment will complete, or that any blockchain network or third-party service will be available or behave as expected.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kit Capital and its officers, directors, employees and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of digital assets, profits, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to Mane, LeoKit or any third-party service, however caused, even if advised of the possibility. Kit Capital’s total liability for all claims relating to Mane will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You will defend and hold Kit Capital harmless from claims arising out of your use of Mane, your transactions, or your breach of these Terms or of applicable law.

11. Additional terms for the Apple App Store

If you obtained Mane from the Apple App Store, the following also applies. These Terms are between you and Kit Capital only, not Apple Inc. (“Apple”); Apple is not responsible for Mane or its content. Your license is limited to a non-transferable license to use Mane on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service, including through Family Sharing where available.

Kit Capital, not Apple, is solely responsible for maintenance and support of Mane; for any product warranty, to the extent one is not disclaimed above; for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to Mane, including product-liability claims, claims that Mane fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer-protection or similar claims; and for investigating, defending, settling and discharging any claim that Mane infringes a third party’s intellectual-property rights. Mane is free of charge, so no purchase price is refundable by Apple. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using Mane. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

12. Changes to these Terms

Kit Capital may update these Terms when Mane, the services it connects to, or the law changes. The effective date above shows the current version. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this page before they take effect. Continuing to use Mane after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which Kit Capital, Inc. is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in effect. These Terms, together with the applicable privacy policy, are the entire agreement between you and Kit Capital about Mane.

14. Contact

Questions about these Terms, support requests, privacy requests and security reports go to [email protected]. Never include a recovery phrase, private key or PIN in a message. Support information is also on the Mane support page.
