Supplied assets earn and secure your loans

Lend native. Borrow stables. Keep custody.

Supply BTC, ETH, SOL or stables straight from their own chains — no wrapping, no bridge. Everything you supply earns pool interest (BTC also earns Boost) and doubles as collateral for USDC and USDT loans up to 80% LTV. Interest settles every 10 blocks. Withdraw to any wallet, any time your LTV allows.

Self-custodial onchain loans

Chainflip's validators hold deposits in threshold-signed vaults and the State Chain keeps the ledger. Your wallet signs every action; LeoDex is only the interface.

FAQ

Chainflip lending, answered

Straight answers to the questions people ask before supplying or borrowing on Chainflip through LeoDex.

What is Chainflip lending?

Chainflip lending is a native crosschain lending protocol on the Chainflip State Chain. You supply BTC, ETH, SOL, USDC or USDT directly from their own blockchains — no wrapped tokens or bridges — to earn interest, and you can borrow against what you supplied. LeoDex is a third-party interface to it; the protocol, vaults and rates are Chainflip's.

Is Chainflip lending non-custodial? Who holds my funds?

Yes. Deposits are held in Chainflip's threshold-signed vaults controlled by its validator set, and every supply, borrow, repay or withdrawal is a message you sign with your own wallet. LeoDex never holds funds and cannot move them; if leodex.io disappeared you could manage the same position from Chainflip's own app.

Which assets can I supply and borrow?

Today: BTC (Bitcoin), ETH, USDC and USDT (Ethereum) and SOL (Solana). Any of them can be supplied to earn, and any pool with available liquidity can be borrowed from — most borrowers take USDC or USDT against BTC or ETH. Chainflip adds markets over time; the table on this page always shows the live set.

How is the supply APY calculated, and why does LeoDex show a 7-day rate?

Borrowers pay interest set by each pool's utilisation curve; that interest is shared across suppliers, and BTC suppliers also earn Boost fees. LeoDex shows the trailing 7-day realised rate from Chainflip's indexer — the same figure lp.chainflip.io shows — with the instantaneous curve rate underneath when it differs. It is a realised number, not a projection.

How does borrowing work — do I need to deposit collateral separately?

No. Since Chainflip Lending 2.0 everything you supply is automatically your collateral. Supply BTC or ETH, then borrow USDC or USDT up to 80% loan-to-value against it while the supplied balance keeps earning. Repay part or all of a loan at any time; interest accrues in the borrowed asset every 10 blocks.

What is LTV and when does liquidation happen?

Loan-to-value is your debt divided by the oracle value of your supplied collateral. New loans can take LTV up to 80%. If prices move against you, soft liquidation begins trimming the position at 90% and hard liquidation at 95%. Liquidations sell just enough collateral to bring LTV back under target and charge a 0.05% fee.

What fees do I pay to lend or borrow?

Supplying is free. Borrowing pays the pool interest rate plus a 0.01% origination fee on the amount borrowed; Chainflip can also route a slice of interest to the network (currently 0%). Liquidations charge 0.05% of the collateral sold. LeoDex adds 25 bps (0.25% APR) as a broker fee on loans opened here — visible in the borrow dialog and never applied to supply.

Do I need KYC or an account?

No account and no identity checks. You connect an EVM wallet (MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet, Keplr and others), register it once as a Chainflip State Chain account, and sign actions with it. LeoDex has no user accounts of any kind.

Which wallets work, and why is there a one-time FLIP registration?

Any EVM wallet that supports EIP-712 typed-data signing. Chainflip's State Chain accepts these signatures directly ("non-native signed calls"), so no Polkadot wallet is needed. Registering a State Chain account requires a small one-time FLIP deposit through Chainflip's gateway contract; LeoDex walks you through it in the onboarding dialog.

How long do deposits and withdrawals take?

Deposits are credited after Chainflip's finality window on the source chain — roughly a few minutes for Ethereum and Solana and around 30 minutes for Bitcoin. Withdrawals are broadcast from Chainflip's vaults on the destination chain and usually arrive within minutes; Bitcoin withdrawals take longer.

What is Boost, and what is the reorg risk on BTC?

Supplied BTC also funds Chainflip Boost, which fronts liquidity so Bitcoin swappers don't wait for full confirmations, and earns extra fees for doing so. The trade-off is exposure to a Bitcoin chain reorganisation reversing a boosted deposit — rare, but real. Only BTC carries this; other assets earn lending interest alone.

Can I withdraw supplied assets at any time?

Yes, subject to two limits: the pool must have that much un-borrowed liquidity, and if you have an open loan you can only withdraw the part of your supply that keeps your LTV under target. Withdrawn assets land in your State Chain balance; from there send them to any Ethereum, Bitcoin or Solana address.

Are there minimum amounts?

Chainflip enforces a minimum supply of about $100 and a minimum loan of about $100, with a smaller minimum for adjustments. There is no maximum, but each pool has a utilisation cap that stops new borrowing when the pool is nearly fully lent.

How does LeoDex make money on lending?

Only through the 25 bps APR broker fee attached to loans opened on LeoDex, paid periodically out of the pool like other interest. Nothing is charged for supplying, depositing or withdrawing, and rates shown are the protocol's own.

I don't hold BTC (or ETH, SOL) — can I get it here first?

Yes. LeoDex is a crosschain swap aggregator, so you can swap into native BTC, ETH, SOL, USDC or USDT from 40+ chains at the best available route, then deposit and supply it on this page. Swaps and lending settle to your own wallet and State Chain balance — nothing is custodied by LeoDex.

How is Chainflip lending different from Aave or Compound?

Aave and Compound live on a single EVM chain and lend wrapped or bridged versions of BTC and SOL. Chainflip lending takes native BTC on Bitcoin and native SOL on Solana as collateral, and pays out to any chain, because Chainflip's validators custody the vaults on each chain directly. The cost is a smaller, younger market with fewer assets.
